Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 28, 2026 Operator: ServicemanRecords (operated by Robert Hopkins, a sole proprietor, California, USA) Privacy contact: scdevonprop@gmail.com. Person in charge of privacy: Robert Hopkins, owner

The short version

1. What this policy covers

This policy covers the ServicemanRecords website and web app (the "Service"). It tells you what information is involved, where it lives, what we do with it, and what rights you have. It does not cover other websites you reach by a link (for example Google Maps).

2. Information in the Service today

2.1 Information you enter into the app (stays on your device)

The app lets you enter customer names, phone numbers and addresses, job notes and photos, quotes, invoices, payments you record, hours, expenses, and business settings (such as your business name, license number, state and sales-tax rate). All of it is saved only in your own browser or device storage (localStorage). It is not sent to us. Because of this, we cannot see it, access it, or recover it. If you clear your browser data, uninstall the app or lose your device, it can be lost. Use "Download all my data" in Settings to keep a copy. Anyone who can unlock your device and open the app can see the data in it.

2.2 Camera and photos

If you tap "Take photo", your device asks for camera access. Photos are shrunk (up to 800 px, JPEG) and stored on your device with the job. "Choose from gallery" opens your device's picker, so you choose each photo; we do not read your photo library. You can turn camera access off in your device settings.

2.3 Files the app keeps in your browser

2.4 Website host logs

When you open our website, the company that hosts it (currently Netlify) may automatically record standard server information such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages requested, and the date and time. We use this only to run and secure the website. We do not use it to build profiles or for advertising. We do not control how long the host keeps its logs.

2.5 Links you tap

2.6 Messages you send us

If you email us, we receive your email address, the message and any attachment. We use it to reply and to keep a record of the conversation.

2.7 What we do not do today

We do not use analytics or advertising tools. We do not use social-media pixels. We do not record sessions or keystrokes. We do not sell, rent or share your personal information for money or for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not collect precise location. We do not make decisions about you using automated profiling.

3. Why we use information

To run and secure the website, answer your emails and support requests, improve the Service from feedback you send us, meet legal obligations, and protect against misuse. We will not use information for an unrelated purpose without telling you first or getting your consent where the law requires it.

4. Who we share information with

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may disclose limited information to: our website host and email provider (service providers who help us run the Service and may only use the information for that), authorities or others if the law requires it or to protect rights and safety, and a buyer if the business is sold (we will tell you and this policy would continue to apply to your information). We do not have a list of other recipients today. If this changes, we will list them here.

5. Your customers' information

You are responsible for having the right to enter your customers' information and for using it lawfully. Because it stays on your device today, you are the one who controls it. If we later add cloud features, we will update this policy first, because we would then process that information on your behalf.

6. How long we keep information

7. Security

Your data is stored on your device, so its safety depends on your device (use a screen lock and keep your software updated). Our website uses HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot promise absolute security. If we ever hold your information and a breach affects it, we will notify you and authorities as the law requires.

8. Children

The Service is for business use by adults. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in Quebec, where applicable) or from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us information, email scdevonprop@gmail.com and we will delete it.

9. Your California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)

California's privacy law gives California residents certain rights where a business is covered. The law applies to businesses above set thresholds (in 2026: more than $26,625,000 in annual gross revenue; or buying, selling or sharing the information of 100,000 or more consumers or households; or earning 50% or more of revenue from selling or sharing personal information). We are currently below these thresholds, but we choose to honor these rights for California residents anyway.

Notice at collection (what we collect, in the last 12 months):

Category (CCPA) Example Source Purpose Sold or shared? Kept
Identifiers IP address (host log); email address if you write to us You; your browser Run/secure site; reply to you No See section 6
Internet or network activity Pages requested, device/browser type (host log) Your browser Run/secure site No See section 6
Other information you give us Content of messages you send You Reply; support No See section 6

We do not collect sensitive personal information, biometric information, precise location, or professional or employment information as a result of your use of the Service. Information you enter in the app stays on your device and is not collected by us.

Your rights: to know what we collect, use and disclose; to delete it; to correct it; to opt out of sale or sharing (we do neither); to limit use of sensitive information (we do not collect it); and to not be treated worse for using these rights. To make a request, email scdevonprop@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity (for example by replying from the same email address). We will respond within 45 days (we may extend once by another 45 days and will tell you why). An authorized agent may make a request for you with proof of authority. If we deny a request, you can ask us to review the decision. You can also complain to the California Privacy Protection Agency (cppa.ca.gov) or the California Attorney General.

California "Shine the Light" (Civil Code 1798.83): we do not disclose personal information to third parties for their direct marketing.

10. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

We do not track you across other websites or apps, and we do not use tracking technologies of our own. Because we do not track, we do not change how the Service works in response to "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signals; we treat a Global Privacy Control signal as an opt-out of sale/sharing, although we do neither.

11. Canada and Quebec

The Service is offered to businesses in the United States and is not currently offered in Quebec (see the Terms). We include these items so this policy is ready if that changes and for Canadian residents who contact us. - Person responsible: Robert Hopkins, owner, scdevonprop@gmail.com. Complaints: write to this person first. You may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca) or, in Quebec, the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec (cai.gouv.qc.ca). - Consent: we collect only what is described above, with your knowledge. By emailing us you agree we may use your message to reply to you. You may withdraw consent at any time by writing to the address above (we will explain what that means for the Service). - Purposes and limits: only those in section 3. We collect the minimum needed. - Transfers outside your province or country: the website host and our email provider may be located in the United States, so server logs and emails you send may be processed and stored there, where privacy laws differ and courts or authorities may be able to access them. Before we collect any personal information from people in Quebec we will carry out the privacy impact assessment that Quebec law requires for transfers outside Quebec. - Your rights: to access the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected, to ask for it to be deleted or de-indexed where the law gives you that right, and to receive it in a structured, commonly used technological format (portability). Write to the contact above; we aim to reply within 30 days. - Retention: see section 6. Automated decisions: none. Breaches: we keep a register of privacy incidents and will notify you and the regulators when the law requires. - Language: a French version of this policy will be provided before any offering in Quebec.

12. Changes to this policy

If we make a material change, we will post the new version with a new effective date, and tell you in the app or by email before the change takes effect if it affects how we handle information you have given us. We review this policy at least once a year.
